Željka Jovićević (1992) was born in Kotor, Montenegro. Her work explores the material, haptic, serial, and rhythmic aspects of painting. Insights gained from studying 20th-century painting, theory, and literature complement her practice. She received her BA in painting at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Cetinje, Montenegro. The MSc degree she obtained in Transdisciplinary Humanities and Theory of Art at the Faculty of Media and Communication in Belgrade. Her thesis was “Dynamic Equilibrium: Piet Mondrian in New York.” She currently lives in Kotor.
